Shows on Television in 2024: A Sneak Peek

After last year’s dual strikes halted production for months, audiences will see a new television landscape. Worker strikes hampered production and highlighted the ongoing conflict between legacy media and Silicon Valley corporations. Reports of a Warner Bros. Discovery-Paramount Global combination add to industry uncertainty.

In addition, ABC’s “Abbott Elementary” and NBC’s “One Chicago” are debuting early. This change may affect the established network series.

This preview includes 10 series, but streaming services continue to delay premiere dates. The final seasons of “Cobra Kai” and “Umbrella Academy,” among others, are on Netflix without dates. HBO and Max have anticipated updated shows like Robert Downey Jr.’s “The Sympathiser” and “Dune: Prophecy.”

Blake Crouch’s “Dark Matter” and Natalie Portman’s “Lady in the Lake” are both coming to Apple TV+. The release dates for Hulu’s “We Were the Lucky Ones” and Disney+’s “The Acolyte” and “X-Men ’97.” are unknown.

Beyond these business titans, AMC plans “Orphan Black: Echoes” and Showtime prepares “Gentleman in Moscow” with Ewan McGregor.
